About
This blog is place for us to share our thoughts, photos, experiences, adventures, and parental ramblings with family and friends.
Neal Enssle and Tara Hess met at the University of Chicago while doing graduate work in European history. After a few years they both decided that there were more interesting things in the world than dead white guys, and soon found themselves living in Maryland. Here Tara pursued a degree in Library Science and Informatics at the University of Maryland, and Neal spent time working as a webmonkey for a law firm in downtown D.C.
They were married in December, 2001, and left Maryland shortly thereafter when Tara got a job closer to home and family working as the Informatics Coordinator at the University of Colorado Natural History Museum in Boulder, Colorado. Neal signed on as a developer with a small data mining and risk management solutions provider that eventually got eaten by a much larger data mining company.
In 2004 they bought a house in Longmont, Colorado, and adopted a cat named Max. In March of 2006 little Anna Rose Enssle was born, bringing great love and joy into their lives.
Tara’s still working part time at the Museum, but Neal’s now much, much happier serving as Director of Technology with Foraker Design, a small web design, development, and usability consultancy in Boulder.
