Anna crawling and Henry dancing

January 26th, 2007

As Neal mentioned in his post yesterday, Anna has just started crawling. She’s doesn’t move far, nor is it very graceful, but she’s trying and that is key. The simple fact that she is getting herself on her hands and knees is amazing considering the fact that her left arm is not that strong. Here’s a movie (7.5MB about 1 minute or so) of Anna that I took just this afternoon.

Anna’s cousin Henry is quite the dancer. Recently he’s started groovin’ to music of any kind. Here’s a short clip of him dancing to one of Anna’s toys.

I was online looking for ia product that our PT recommended for my son and saw your web page. As a parent of a 5 year old with mild CP(left side hemi), I can honestly appreciate all that you are going through. My words of encouragement are simple. Therapy and intervention are key. My son is doing fabolous and has been going to OT and PT since he was 1 year old. He will begin kindergarten next year and really only those close to him know that he is a hemi. Academically, he is doing great. He wears a left AFO (brace) that we call a “super leg” and now only attends one therapy each week. Sitting up, standing, walking, and running are huge events, but even bigger when you have a diagnosis of CP. We went through the MRI’s, neurologist visits, and doctor evaluations. I know how stressful all of those can be…
