The Germans are coming!
August 13th, 2006
We were happy to welcome some of our relatives from Germany this past week. My aunt and uncle from Duesseldorf stopped in for a visit on their way up to Aspen, where their eldest daughter will be attended boarding school for a year.
We’ve some pictures!

Hello Neal,
I wanted to say hello since there are so few enssle’s in the states.
My name is David Enssle and I live in Tustin CA. My brother Jim lives in Littleton CO. Our family is originally from Aalen and Stuttgart. My grandfather Wilhelm came to the states in the 1920’s.
I belive your dad is a proffessor at CSU. My brother went there for his MS in finance.
I think our great grandfathers were brothers(maybe your dads greatgrandfather).
Anyway, I make many trips to Germany and the Stuttgart area and will be going there at the end of September.
Over the years I have met some Enssle’s that own an apple farm in Germany and also live in Aalen and the Stuttgart area.
Great website…
Tschüss und bis bald,
Dave Enssle

Gruessgott Dave!
Thanks for your posting. Indeed my family comes from the Stuttgart area. My grandfather (whom I never met, though he saw pictures of a tiny me) was Richard Enssle. He owned a leather factory in Vaihingen an der Enz near Stuttgart.
I’ll mention your post to my father (retiring from CSU here in the next year or so) and see if he knows of a “traveling” Wilhelm.
We don’t get back over there as much as we’d like, though my father was back this summer to celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday.
I’ll let you know what I find out — we’re probably related somehow!
Alles Gute,
Neal
